How much do accident lawyers charge?

At DLE Lawyers, you don’t pay anything upfront. Consultations are free, and you only owe us if we win your case. When we win, we take a pre-agreed percentage of the settlement after the money arrives, and you keep the rest.

Most of the time, compensation comes from the insurance company. Their goal is to pay as little as possible. Our goal is the opposite, the more you recover, the more we earn. That means our financial interests are aligned with yours.
Winning means securing compensation for you, whether through a settlement or a court verdict. If we don’t win, you don’t pay. If we do, we deduct our agreed fee from your settlement and you keep the rest.
How long after a car accident can you claim injury?

It’s best to file your claim as soon as possible, while evidence is still fresh. In Florida, the statute of limitations for most personal injury and property damage claims is four years from the date of the accident.

  • Wrongful death: Must be filed within two years of the victim’s death.
  • Exceptions: In rare cases (mental incapacity, fraud, or late discovery of injury), the deadline may be extended.

Even if most cases settle outside court, filing on time is crucial to keep your right to compensation.

Should I get an attorney after a car accident?
Yes. An experienced attorney can protect your rights, deal with the insurance company, and maximize your compensation. Studies show people with lawyers recover more, even after legal fees.
You can. We don’t charge upfront fees, and consultations are free. You only pay if we win, and our fee comes out of your settlement.
How much can I expect from a car accident settlement?

Settlements vary, but compensation may include:

  • Property damage (repair or replacement of your car)
  • Medical expenses (past and future care)
  • Lost wages and future earnings
  • Pain and suffering
  • Emotional distress or loss of companionship

In wrongful death cases, family members may also recover for loss of support, companionship, and funeral costs. In rare cases, punitive damages may apply if there was extreme negligence or intentional misconduct.

What should I do after a car accident?
  • At the scene: Move to safety, exchange information, call 911, take photos, collect witness info, and get medical attention.

  • In the days after: Report the accident to police (if not already), monitor symptoms, get the police report, and contact a lawyer.

  • What not to do: Don’t admit fault, don’t talk to insurance adjusters without your lawyer, don’t sign documents or settlements without advice, and don’t post about the accident online.

Jimmy is an incredible attorney and is one of the few attorneys I've encountered that will answer his phone or if not get right back to you. He's very attentive to your needs. Miami is a city full of attorneys but a few stand out and Jimmy definitely is among that group.
